Extra! Extra! Meet Saxon Holt, Photographer, in Palo Alto

Here's to let you all know that Saxon Holt, Photographer extraordinaire, will be in Palo Alto at Books Inc in Town and Country Village on Tuesday, May 5 at 6pm (kind of early, note the time). Saxon Holt has not only made all the amazing photos I raved about in my post on the East Bay MUD book, he also sponsored the wonderful Picture This Photo Contest in which the Bee's Bliss photo that Country Mouse submitted was second runner up.
I checked the Hardy Succulents book out of the library and I just love the photos, but he'll also talk about his other books, so it should be a very interesting evening. Hope to see you all there.

Not sure if I can make it to Palo Alto on Tuesday, but I did just request this book from our library. Here's hoping it solves some mysteries for me. Thanks for the heads up!

Saxon attended the Natives symposium in Lafayette last month. I introduced myself at one of the breaks and proceeded to gush in the geekiest way!

I think it would be fun to go - I'd like to hear his tips.

If I had lots of money I'd get his photo print "Spring Oaks" - I've wanted to take a photo like this every spring since I don't know when:

Thanks for the tip on the photographer and the book. A trip to Palo Alto is a major event for me, but I will look for this hardy succulents book, needed in the literature if my survey is any indicator. And with excellent photos we will actually be able to identify them...
