Town Mouse and Country Mouse Passes the 500 Blog Post Mark!

It happened while I was gone, but I do think it's worth mentioning. This is post 506.

How did we do it? I have no idea, but I know we couldn't have done it alone. Thanks to you, dear readers, we're now getting close to 3 years of posts.

And to cheer me up even more, look what I saw in the redwood habitat:

Yes, I couldn't believe it myself. I bought a trillium maybe 5 years ago. I saw it bloom once. Then it disappeared. Completely. Until a few days ago:

Happy Friday!

I noticed that and was going to comment on it, then got distracted. I was going to post this morning about finding ninebark along our creek - then I realized it isn't actually ninebark! I'm trying to find out what it actually IS!

A trillium for your third blogaversary? How appropriate ;~(0)
Congratulations Meeces! Lovely Trillium, do you know what species it is?
Congratulations on the 500+! Trilliums are so beautiful, but unfortunately they don't adapt well to our climate here in Southern California.

I got that Trillium from Digging Dog Nursery, and it's Trillium grandiflorum Snowy White http://www.diggingdog.com/pages2/plantpages.php/P-0885

Not locally native, I think, but I'm thrilled that it came back regardless.
