Wildflower Wednesday

Here she is! Beautiful, pure, white, a joy to all who discover the blossoms among the bright green leaves. Clematis lasiantha (chaparral clematis) twining over a trellis along the fence.

Last week, after 2 years of summer dormancy and winter dormancy (and some leaves in between spring and fall) she finally showed her stuff.

OK, I won't rip you out after all. Welcome to the garden!

So glad she redeemed herself and graced us with her presence! Does Clematis ligusticifolia bloom later? I've got a lovely green vine- no flowers yet...

Very pretty! What a nice surprise!
Sometimes I think I must live in a cave...I've never seen Chaparral Clematis. She's gorgeous! Glad you've decided to let her stay.
How beautiful. How wonderful to have a wildflower that grows as a vine.

Absolutely beautiful! I have a soft spot for vines, especially those with beautiful flowers. I'm glad she decided to hang in there and show us what she's made of! :)

What a beautiful clematis - I've never heard of this variety! Sometimes I think plants can read our minds...and when they see that look in our eyes they kick it into high gear! Glad to see she's performing for you!
Nice! Our native (and also vigorous) native Clematis is C. virginiana, virgin's bower. I'm starting some from seeds and am curious how long they will take to bloom...
